~し: Stack Reasons & Qualities
Use plain clause + し to give multiple reasons or supporting points.
- Plain predicates.
This is useful when explaining why an approach, tool, or situation is good/bad for more than one reason.
1. し leaves room for additional reasons
Aし、Bし... can sound like 'A, and B, among other reasons.'
2. Build an opinion from several observations
Study the examples and identify the structural pattern before relying on the English translation.
Natural: It's fast and convenient, so I think this tool is good.
Structure: fast + reason; convenient + reason; tool good think
Multiple supporting points.
Natural: We don't have time either, so we'll stop for today.
Structure: time also absent + reason — today stop
A reason can imply others.
3. Evidence-to-conclusion sheet
Write six conclusions supported by two or three ~し clauses.
