好き / 嫌い: Likes & Dislikes
Express preferences using N が 好きです / 嫌いです while understanding that 好き and 嫌い behave like な-adjectives.
- な-adjective behavior and basic が preview from existence sentences.
Preferences are common in casual conversation and useful professionally when discussing tools, approaches, languages, tasks, or working styles.
1. Japanese preference structure does not mirror English 'I like X'
A common beginner pattern is 私は X が 好きです: as for me, X is liked/favored. が marks the thing that is the focus of the preference.

3. 好き and 嫌い behave as な-adjectives
Before a noun: 好きなツール, 嫌いな仕事. Despite ending in い, 嫌い is not an い-adjective.
4. Preference matrix
Write five things you like, three you dislike, and two neutral/qualified preferences. Include at least four professional/technical topics and four general-life topics.
